    BECOME A BLUESTAR PRINCIPAL ADVISER

    Get the support you need to succeed

    Sanlam will provide you with the necessary skills and support to become a BlueStar Principal Adviser. We run a training programme to equip you with all you need – and you’ll be able to run your business under Sanlam’s FSP licence. Please note that Sanlam is the product and financial services provider, and not the BlueStar business.

    Our business model is aimed at the salaried and affluent market segments and consists of a professional and administrative division that provides services to participating advisers. A principal adviser may also take on associates to grow the business even further.

    Our business model supports you in the following ways:
    • This model allows a commission split between the principal and the legal entity which enables the business to receive a pre-taxed income

    • The legal entity is branded as a separate business under the Sanlam name

    • Each BlueStar business develops its own client value proposition, ensuring the business is able to deliver on its service promise

    Sanlam can help you build a sustainable financial planning business that offers long-term growth. Our BlueStar businesses offer a distinguished approach to financial planning that benefits your clients, and you as adviser.

    You can expect the following advantages when partnering with us:

    1. We prioritise the development of our financial advisers, which is evidenced by the career progression and success seen over the years.

    2. We offer a variety of contracts ranging from an employee contract (up to 85% of broker commission with added benefits) to a contract with maximum allowed broker commission.

      The philosophy underpinning our remuneration structures is to reward financial advisers through a high-performance culture, in other words the percentage of maximum commission payable is determined by their productivity level and quality of advice, and further incentives and rewards are also provided for BlueStars that perform well.

    3. Sanlam Financial Advisers (SFA) has created a family-oriented environment characterised by cohesion, mutual support and the flexibility that enables our financial advisers to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

      Based on the financial adviser’s client portfolio, he or she will be supported by various industry specialists as and when required. Our specialised organisational structure also ensures that our financial advisers receive support based on their needs during specific stages of their career.

    4. Career development is a key factor and we offer several career and business growth opportunities. We have a specialist onboarding support office that will provide assistance and help set up your business, and once you’re set up and fully functioning we’ll focus on helping you to develop your business further.

    5. Our recruitment and selection process is complemented by an intensive vesting process, which includes a structured training programme for all new recruits.
